Chapter 1
The name
Shree Durga Prasad & Sons carries the name of the family's patriarch, Shri Durga Prasad. The sons who built the firm put his name over the door.

Chapter 2 · 1987
The beginning
In 1987 the brothers Shri Umesh Kumar Agrawal and Shri Sudesh Kumar Agrawal opened a wholesale counter for ghee and skimmed milk powder in Agra's Malka Bazar. A 15 kg tin of ghee then cost about ₹850.

Registered, two roles
On 1 March 1993 the firm was registered as M/S Shree Durga Prasad & Sons, a proprietorship under Shri Sudesh Kumar Agrawal. He has led the ghee and SMP business since; his elder brother, Shri Umesh Kumar Agrawal, looks after the family's other ventures.

Chapter 4
Three godowns
Stock grew into three godowns in and around Agra, at Gudari Mansoor Khan, Rohta and Etmadpur, holding on average about 10,000 ghee tins and 10,000 SMP bags, rotated first in, first out.

Two dozen brands
The shelves now carry 24 dairy brands, from India's large co-operatives to regional names, in retail packs and bulk tins.

Trusted by the trade
The firm buys at Amul Dairy Trade auctions (State and H.O.) and is a registered buyer on the NCDFI eMarket. It is GST-registered since 2017 and bills on e-invoices since 2023.
